Transmission lines which carry power across the Pacific Northwest are in danger because of Trump, Musk and DOGE The reduction of BP work force will effect you Trump/Musk Fires Bonneville Workers Trump and Musk are attacking the Pacific Northwest’s Power grid. Linemen, engineers among hundreds of staff to leave Bonneville Power Administration as Trump trims workforce. The Bonneville Power Administration could lose almost 20% of its workforce because of President Donald Trump’s efforts to shrink the federal government. His attack on federal employees is effecting everybody. That’s raising concerns among current and former employees about the agency’s ability to ensure the reliability of the region’s electrical grid. About 200 of the agency’s more than 3,000 employees have accepted the Trump administration’s offer to resign and receive eight months of severance pay, which the administration sent via an email with the subject line “Fork in the Road.” An additional 90 job offers at BPA were rescinded as a result of the administration’s freeze on federal hiring. Current and former BPA staff expect another 350 to 400 introductory employees could be cut. Agency leadership have fought to keep that number below 150. The employees taking the buyout include linemen, engineers, substation operators and power dispatchers, all positions that take years of apprenticeship to learn. The reduction of workers could be serious ,unplanned outages, no lights, long term outages, slow repairs. The loss of these jobs will disrupt functions include dispensing hydropower from 31 federal dams and operating 75% of the Northwest’s power grid, guaranteeing consistent electricity for millions in the Northwest. The Trump administration had “made it clear that it’s a national priority to increase the abundance of affordable, reliable, and secure energy to strengthen the grid and to enable the projects that will improve people’s lives. Just how do you do that with less people, non-qualified people, no workers no one in leadership? The Bonneville staff reductions to be ironic because the agency is self-funded. It receives no money from taxpayers and funds all of its staff and programs with its power and transmission sales. So the administration isn’t saving a thing with these cuts. These cuts doesn’t save one penny towards reducing the Federal deficit. This is being done by Trumps new department DOGE ran by Musk. Its’ simply an attack on federal workers, the American people and anyone else who might benefit from federal agencies. Domestically and foreign. So all you people who drank the kool aid, and voted for the NAZI and his buddy Musk, when the lights go out, you can thank yourself. The implications of these moves will be felt for decades. But you don’t see any reduction in federal aid, or benefits that Musk is getting from the federal government do you. People who voted for Trump are saps.
