Alexei Navalny, was murdered in a Russian prison Feb.16 th 2024 at 47 years old. the fiercest foe of Russian President Vladimir Putin who crusaded against official corruption and staged massive anti-Kremlin protests.
Alexei Navalny
Opposition leader Alexei Navalny, died at a remote Arctic penal colony. Mos believe that he was probably killed by Putin. Navalny has been a thorn in Putin’s side for a decade, he survived being poisoned by Putin, survived several prison terms, yet came back to Russia to try and free the people from oppression. He was not murdered by being pushed out a hospital window or blown up in an airplane like others who have angered Putin. The sudden death of Navalny, 47, was a crushing blow to many Russians, who had pinned their hopes for the future on President Vladimir Putin’s fiercest foe. The Russian government ordered arrests of many mourners, hundreds of people in dozens of Russian cities traveled to memorials and monuments constructed to victims of political repressions with flowers and candles on Friday and Saturday to pay a tribute to the politician. In over a dozen cities, police held 401 people by Saturday night, according to the OVD-Info rights group that tracks political arrests and provides legal aid. More than 200 arrests were made in St. Petersburg, Russia’s second largest city, the group said. Among those detained was Grigory Mikhnov-Voitenko, a priest of the Apostolic Orthodox Church, a religious group independent of the Russian Orthodox Church. The priest announced plans on social media to hold a memorial service for Navalny and was arrested on Saturday morning outside his home. He was charged with organizing a rally and placed in a holding cell in a police precinct, but was later hospitalized with a stroke reported by the rights group. Courts in St. Petersburg have ordered 42 of those detained on Friday to serve from one to six days in jail, while nine others were fined, court officials said late on Saturday. In Moscow, at least six people were ordered to serve 15 days in jail. More than 12,000 people have submitted requests to the Russian government asking for the politician’s remains to be handed over to his relatives, so far there has been no comments from the Russian government. A note handed to Navalny’s mother stated that he died at 2:17 p.m. Friday, according to Yarmysh. Prison officials told his mother when she arrived at the penal colony Saturday that her son had perished from “sudden death syndrome, yet no camera footage was given out . There are cameras in every spot in these cells/ prisons. Shortly before his death he was seen walking around just fine, then all at once when he came back from his walk he felt sick and dropped dead. Navalny had been jailed since January 2021, when he returned to Moscow after recuperating in Germany from nerve agent poisoning. Navalny received three prison terms since his arrest, on a number of charges he has rejected as politically motivated. After the last verdict that handed him a 19-year term, Navalny said, he understood he was serving a life sentence, “which is measured by the length of my life or the length of life of this regime.” It would appear that the regime was afraid of him and wanted him silenced to they carried out his death. This is the type of country and government Trump and his MAGA followers want. They want a dictatorship. Trump has declared that he will be a dictator on day one. So any one who speaks out against him, if he is elected will find themselves dead or, most likely, in prison. The people in America who support this kind of government should consider moving to Russia where they can live their lives in a suppressed country, where going to the grocery store could be a death sentence. If they complain about anything they will either spend time in jail or be found dead. All I can say is…. be careful for what you wish for. Its not something you really want for once it’s here it will be impossible to get rid of without millions of lives lost to bloodshed. Tammy
