China Flexing Military Muscle And Breaking Medical News
China’s military sent 71 planes and seven ships toward Taiwan in a 24-hour display of force directed at the island, Monday, after China expressed anger at Taiwan-related provisions in a U.S. annual defense spending bill passed on Saturday. China’s military provocation of self-ruled Taiwan, which it claims is its own territory, has increased in recent years, and the Communist Party’s People’s Liberation Army has sent planes or ships toward the island on a near-daily basis. 47 of the Chinese planes crossed the median of the Taiwan Strait, an unofficial boundary once tacitly accepted by both sides, some of the the planes China sent towards Taiwan were 18 J-16 fighter jets, 11 J-1 fighters, 6 Su-30 fighters and drones. This is a firm response to the current US-Taiwan agreement and allies, China claims escalation and provocation. The PLA’s Eastern Theater Command, announced that the PLA was holding joint combat patrols and joint strike drills in the waters around Taiwan. The maneuvers are a result of the U.S. defense spending bill, which calls China a strategic challenge. With regard to the Indo-Pacific region, the legislation authorizes increased security cooperation with Taiwan and requires expanded cooperation with India on emerging defense technologies, readiness and logistics. As China has been gearing up around the borders of India, and other areas in the Indo-Pacific. China’s military has often used large military exercises as a demonstration of force in response to U.S. government actions in support of Taiwan. It conducted large live-fire military exercises in August in response to U.S. House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. Beijing views visits from foreign governments to the island as recognition of the island as independent and a challenge to China’s claim of sovereignty. The people of Taiwan do not want to be under China’s control, they want to be free and independent from China. China has been trying to slowly invade several countries by pouring money into the countries or sending troops and warfare to sit on the borders, for example India. And the money they are sending is to Africaian countries, and small islands near Australia. The islands near Australia are important to the US for military control of the region. Africa holds many precious metals that China wants. We need to circumvent China everywhere possible in these areas, if China gains control of Indo-Pacific they control half the world. Then you have China’s deeping ties with Russia, because the US has put some trade restrictions on China. China also blamed America for the deterioration in relations between the world’s two largest economies, saying that China has firmly rejected the United States’ erroneous China policy. Wang defended his country's position on the war in Ukraine. This signaled that China would deepen ties with Russia in the coming year while striving to bring US China ties back on the right course. China has pushed back against Western pressure on trade, technology, human rights and its claims to a broad swath of the western Pacific, accusing the U.S. of bullying. Its refusal to condemn the invasion of Ukraine and join others in imposing sanctions on Russia has further frayed ties and fueled an emerging divide with much of Europe. China has stated that they would deepen strategic mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia. Warships from the two countries held joint naval drills in the East China Sea last week. Trying to show the US and allies that China and Russia are buddies. China has found common ground with Russia as both come under Western pressure, its economic future remains tied to American and European markets and technology. Leader Xi Jinping is pushing Chinese industry to become more self-sufficient, but acknowledges that experience has shown that China and the United States cannot decouple or sever supply chains. The US made a huge mistake decades ago when Nixon went to China choked on Peking Duck, and made huge trade agreements. The US has depended on China for goods, food etc. and shown what a mistake it was when we could not get chips for cars and other things. The US is reversing their dependency on China goods with President Biden having companies making chips here in the US.
BREAKING MEDICAL NEWS The world’s first operation to inject donor stem cells into a baby’s failing heart has proven successful and has opened the door to stem cell plasters for children. In 2020, surgeons injected umbilical cord stem cells into a baby named Finley, from Corsham in Wiltshire, after operations to reposition the two main arteries in his heart failed. Two years on, Finley is a healthy toddler, and researchers have refined the technique to create stem cell plasters which could be sewn over holes in the heart, or defects in blood vessels and valves. It would mean that children living with congenital heart disease do not need so many open-heart operations. Current patches or replacement heart valves are not completely biological and cannot grow with the baby, so need replacing as the child gets older. Researchers are hopeful that the stem cell patches will adapt and grow with the child’s heart and are hoping to begin clinical trials in the next two years. This breakthrough treatment holds promise for people on dialysis, and older people with heart problems. Science has prevailed once again. Wishing all my readers a very Happy New Year!
