Unlike George Bush I knew the difference between truth and lies
It is apparent that George Bush and his gang have something to hide over the firing of several federal prosecutors who were investigating criminal activities by several Republicans' in Congress. White House Counsel Fred Fielding told lawmakers they could interview presidential counselor Karl Rove, and former White House Counsel Harriet Miers and their deputies, the interview could only be conducted on the terms that Bush sets forth. The terms included in private, with out under oat and no transcript. Sounds to me, that Bush is afraid that the democrats will under cover apparent misconduct by those of the Bush administration and Republican Congressman. Patrick Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee firmly rejected Bush's offer and remarked "Testimony should be on the record and under oath. That's the formula for true accountability." It happens that 70+ percent of the American people feel the same way as the democrats do; although Bush being a lame duck feels that he needs to be accountable only to his main supporters of approximately 30 percent of Americans. Democrats will start authorizing subpoenas as soon as Wednesday for the White House aides. The aids that will be interviewed will have to tell the truth about the republicans under investigation but will not be held legally if they are not under oath, and with out transcripts their testimony will not be binding. The bullying attempt of Bush to ignore the Senate or his attempt to lay ground rules to the senate plainly demonstrates that he considers himself and his cohorts to be above the law and should not have to answer to the American people or to the Senate Judiciary Committee for their apparent abuse of power.
