Bill Bradbury was the main speaker on Global Warming, February 28, 07 at the Clatskanie High School. Save Our Columbia River and Columbia River Keeper.org sponsored the event SOCR, Marshland Democratic Committee man from the Marshland District Pat Cunningham coordinated the event in conjunction with the Secretary of State Bradbury's office. There were 100 + persons who came to learn about the immediate dangers of Global Warming. Mr. Bradbury started off his presentation with film clips showing Al Gores Global Warming training camp in Tennessee. Bradbury was one of the first 50 to receive training as a spokesperson enabling him to deliver speeches across America, educating the public on this very important issue.

Bradbury explained many key points, such as with out an atmosphere we would be either to hot or to cold, as the atmosphere thickens it traps radiation, and causes the retention of heat, not allowing green house gasses to escape causing a rise in the temperature of the earth.

In 1958 scientists started to document the rise of CO-2 the graph used was called the Keling Curve, they conducted their study in the middle of the Pacific (in Hawaii) there is NO DISPUTE against this study by other scientists.
The data is in that the worlds Glaciers are shrinking at an alarming rate, faster than first anticipated. By the year 2012 Glacier Park will have no glaciers. Mt. Hood will have 61% less snow. The Himalayan Mountains will be so affected by Global warming that there will not be enough snowmelt on them to deliver enough water for nearly 3 billion people.
The earth is now hotter than it has been in the last 1,000 years; scientists using core samples of Glacier ice, taken in the Artic, have proved this theory. Glacier rings are the same as tree rings, one ring equals one year, and so scientist can be very precise in their data collecting.

Right now in our atmosphere we have 381 PPM (Parts Per Million) of CO-2, if we continue our current trend in 45 years the CO-2 levels will be 600 PPM.
Global Warming is causing the surface of the oceans to warm past natural levels, thus causing significant increases in devastating hurricanes. Typhoons are on the increase as well; Japan had 10 Typhoons in 2004. Brazil had a hurricane; Hurricanes usually did not hit South of the boarder but do now because of the increase of the temperature of the waters' surface.

In 2004 India had a dramatic increase of rain, 37 inches in a 24-hour period, the whole region has a substantial increase in storms.
As parts of the world suffers from record rain other parts are suffering from record droughts, for example in 2004 was the first year that Darfurs Lake Chad dried up completely displacing millions.
With CO-2 doubling, moisture content in the soil will be decreased by 50%, causing crops to fail and thousands to starve, a sight that will be come more common as CO -2 increases.
The United States Navy has been keeping records of ice thickness in the Artic Ice Cap, pertaining to surfacing capabilities of US subs, the US Navy has documented the dramatic decline in the thickness of the ice. These are facts, that can not be ignored any longer.
Since Ice is the best reflector of the suns energy, as ice melts, global warming intensifies, water levels rise, causing landmasses to disappear, displacing millions of people in lower elevations. We must take immediate action.

The majority of people worldwide have now come to the conclusion that Global Warming is a FACT! The majority of people want action taken immediately to reduce green house emissions, the majority of people want their government to demand that corporations take the necessary steps to develop environmental friendly industries that reduce pollution to a minimum. The majority of people want immensely improved gas mileage on vehicles. The majority of people want, to leave this planet, a better place, for future generations, and are willingly to change their lifestyles to achieve this goal.

Although there still are few among us, who still believe that the world is FLAT these people are slow to believe anything that remotely resembles "an environmental issue" claiming that the "chicken Little syndrome is being presented to the people of the world. Caring little for the health of the planet or its inhabitants, many of these people will continue to put personal wealth well above the importance of the well being of the planet and their neighbors caring nothing about the results that their greed has generated.

It is a rare occasion that scientists world wide agree on any subject, but this time these minds have come together to form a coalition to take steps in saving our planet, 928 scientific studies agree that people ARE causing Global Warming.
Since we have caused global warming it is our responsibility to stop the destruction of our home after all, earth is the only home that we have.
