Merry Christmas Get Your Vaccine and Booster Shots
Fox News and right-wing news stations and right wing politicians are still spreading false information about the covid and Omicron virus. These fools need to stop it now. Vaccines slowed down this summer because of the misinformation and those still refusing to get the vaccine. These companies and personalities are making money by peddling lies and allowing misinformation that can kill their own customers and their own supporters. What don’t republicons get about saving people’s lives and getting this virus under control.
All of us that have had the vaccine and the booster shots can safely enjoy Christmas with family. Those people wo refuse the vaccine will no doubt infect family members and cause super spreader events and fill up the hospitals with non vaccinators.
There are 200 million Americans who are fully vaccinated compared to March 2020, when no Americans were vaccinated. WE will not get as bad as March 2020 but we still need more folks vaccinated. We also are ahead with the gowns and masks so there will be no shortages for frontline workers.
Schools are now able to disinfect the classrooms and with kids able to get shots, will slow down the spread or stop the spread. Kids need to get back to school and have some social interaction. Getting life back to some sort of normal is very important for the development for kids. People who are "not fully vaccinated" have "good reason to be concerned" about the spread of the Omicron variant; you’re at a high risk of getting sick, and if you get sick you're likely to spread it to others, including friends and family. Unvaccinated people have a "significantly higher risk" of being hospitalized or dying from Covid-19.
Vaccinated people who get Covid may get ill. But they're protected from severe illness and death. The Omicron variant "spreads very easily so the shots are necessary to keep hospitalization down or null.
Among the President's new initiatives is a plan to prepare 1,000 military service members to deploy to overburdened hospitals across the country in January and February, administration officials said. Those service members will include doctors, nurses, medics and other military medical personnel. Biden hopes to reassure Americans that if they are vaccinated, they can still proceed with their holiday plans without fear of becoming seriously ill. Conversely, he wants to warn those who have not yet received shots of the potential for severe illness or death in the coming months. By contrast, Biden will warn the tens of millions of Americans who have so far declined to get vaccinated that they run a high risk of becoming ill or hospitalized as the highly transmissible Omicron variant spreads rapidly across the country
Biden will also announce new vaccination sites and increased vaccine access, and will deploy hundreds of additional federal vaccinators. These “vaccinators” will help add "thousands of appointments each week.
The World Health Organization on Tuesday warned of a "storm coming" as Omicron spreads in a host of countries across Europe. Omicron has now become the dominant strain of Covid-19 in countries such as Denmark, Portugal, and the UK where cases are doubling every 1.5 to three days. The virus has spread faster than first thought.

Countries in WHO's Europe region recorded at least 2,749,122 new Covid-19 cases in the past week. Lockdowns are happening in Europe and in the United States.
Canada is addressing the spread; Montreal is declaring a state of emergency to better deal with the turbulence caused by the Omicron variant. Canada's province of Quebec said it reported 5,043 new cases of Covid-19, according to the data on Covid-19 in Quebec website. This represents the highest single-day number of Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
This is bad news as Christmas approaches and people get together. I understand people miss the holidays with family and friends but no event is worth someone's life.
Again the virus would be under control if those non vaccinators would get vaccinated. Numbers are showing that the US will start the New Year with grimness. People are getting covid weary and are not as careful as they were. We must remain diligent to get through this shitty time in history.
