The US Betrayed The Kurds
Betrayal, Most Foul
Trumps decision to pull US troops out of Syria and to throw the Kurds under the bus so to speak, has been a disaster and has caused the entire region to be at war. It has turned into a humanitarian disaster for the Kurds, at least a hundred thousand of whom have been displaced. It is now escalating into a strategic disaster for the United States, the US has no say no power no respect in the region. Trumps decision has allowed Russia to become involved in the US created conflict. Russia has not been in the region in since 1973 and trumps deliberate move has given Russia freewheeling. Trumps bungling incompetence and boundless arrogance may finally be catching up with him. He will be known as the President who allowed ISIS to make a comeback, ISIS prisoners have broken out of jail and has dispatched to where ever. These ISIS fighters were some of the worse. Trump made the comment that hopefully they will go to Europe. What a complete fool- these killers will go to Europe and to the United States to carry out murders. Trump said the United States was demanding a ceasefire and imposing economic sanctions on Turkey. In a phone call with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Trump “communicated to him very clearly that the United States of America wants Turkey to stop the invasion, to implement an immediate ceasefire, or Trump would cause a disaster in Turkey. The Turks told Trump to stick it up his ass in so many words. Trump has no power to demand nothing or stop the slaughter of US allies because the asshole caused the conflict. And now because of outcry from some in the Republican Party he is trying to save face, it’s too late asshole there is no going back. The deaths of innocent people are on his head, but frankly he doesn’t care. The US has lost all respect throughout the world, we cannot be trusted, It will take years for the US to recover from Trump. Trump posted a statement, saying, “I have been perfectly clear with President Erdogan: Turkey’s action is precipitating a humanitarian crisis and setting conditions for possible war crimes.” But the statement didn’t say anything about demanding a ceasefire, and in other tweets Trump continued to defend his decision to pull U.S. troops out of the area near the Syria-Turkey border. “Anyone who wants to assist Syria in protecting the Kurds is good with me, whether it is Russia, China, or Napoleon Bonaparte,” he wrote “I hope they all do great, we are 7,000 miles away!” Trumps arrogance and ignorance never ceases. The Kurds have been fighting a common enemy of the US which is ISIS, US troops have become comrades with these brave fighters and have seen first- hand the sacrifices these Kurdish soldiers have gave. The U.S.-backed militia has been one of America’s closest partners in the war against the Islamic State since 2014, and some 11,000 Kurdish fighters have been killed in combat against the terrorist group. The US has 1,000 troops in the region and Trumps decision to a withdraw immediately has been hard to swallow for the American fighters. US soldiers feel like they are abandoning our closest ally in the fight against ISIS, and abandoning them to a fate that is going to end very poorly for them. To “completely abandon” a force that has “given thousands of lives for this conflict is really tough for US soldiers to watch. Trump tried to down play his terrible decision by making this stupid comment they didn’t help us in the Second World War, they didn’t help us in Normandy” and were only interested in fighting for “their land.” With all of that being said, we like the Kurds. American servicemen are usually not allowed or would not speak out against their orders but a good many have ignored that standard policy and have taken to social media and some have talked to the news media as well. eight U.S. service members who served with Kurdish forces in Syria and Iraq expressed disgust in interviews with The Washington Post about the rapid U.S. changes and the lack of a clear plan to prevent a crisis. Many of them, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, doubted that Turkish forces would have launched an assault into northern Syria if the White House had not said it would stand aside. “I can’t even look at the atrocities,” an Army officer who served in Syria last year said of videos posted online of Turkish-backed fighters executing Kurdish civilians. “The ISIS mission is going to stop, ISIS is going to have a resurgence, and we’re going to have to go back in five years and do it all again.” He added that while he was in the Middle East, military officials at the Pentagon sometimes discussed with officers in the field how they could craft a compelling case for Trump to stay longer while a thoughtful exit strategy could be designed. “I remember hearing, ‘How are we going to phrase terms to convince Trump not to go off a cliff?’ ” the officer said. “It’s like, ‘How do you steer him to the right decision and not where he wants to go? Another Army officer who deployed to Syria a few times and has knowledge of ongoing operations predicted in an interview Saturday that if the United States didn't change its policy within 48 hours, “everything over the last five years is done.” Within hours, Trump had ordered a full U.S. troop withdrawal from northeastern Syria. The officer said the United States aided the Turkish offensive by talking the SDF into taking down some of its defenses in the border region under the premise that the United States would stay involved and then allowing the Turkish operation to go forward. But when a soldier is ordered to leave, they leave and that’s that. No matter what the order ends up causing. What can anyone say or do when you have a president that has mental problems and makes decisions that will benefit his business? All we can do is do due diligence find the smoking gun and the bullets and impeach the crazy bastard as fast as we can. The Republic needs us more than ever now, and our Congress must vote for impeachment, and hopefully the Republican majority in the senate will put country over politics and vote to impeach trump. But I would not hold your breath because the republicans are gutless and would risk the ruination of our country before they would admit or condemn another republican. I am just sick of what our country has become.
