Everyone Deserves The Same Rights
I was going to write about who are the legitimate fact checkers on news storied from the internet. But then I seen where Trump wants to roll back civil rights for some Americans, just because they are transgender. And I thought it was more important to learn what Trump was up too on attacking people. The fact checkers can wait, as the attack on transgender folks is more important. As a civilized society we should be outraged, when will he turn on the rest of us, more than he already has. Under Trump no one is safe from his crazy ideas. Trump is considering changing the laws to protect transgender individuals. The Trump administration is considering narrowly defining gender as a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth, the most drastic move yet in a government wide work to roll back recognition and protections of transgender people under federal civil rights law. Decisions by the Obama administration relaxed the legal perception of gender in federal programs, including in education and health care, identifying gender largely as an individual’s choice and not determined by the sex of the person at birth. But when Obama did this it sparked controversy in the use of public bathrooms, dormitories, single-sex programs and other fields where gender was once seen as a man, or woman concept. While the liberal’s applauded this action, the conservatives and Evangenical Christian population was outraged. President Trump has instructed the Department of Health and Human Services is leading an effort to institute a legal description of sex under Title IX, the federal civil rights law that bans gender discrimination in education programs that receive government financial assistance. The Trump administration says government agencies needed to adopt an clear and uniform definition of gender as determined on a biological foundation that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable. The agency’s recommended definition would define sex as either male or female, consistent, and determined by the genitals that a person is born with. Any dispute about one’s sex would have to be clarified using genetic testing. The gender listed on a person’s birth certificate, as originally issued, shall establish absolute proof of a person’s gender unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence. Under Trumps new definition would essentially eliminate federal acknowledgment of the estimated 1.4 million Americans who have chosen to identify themselves ,surgically or otherwise, as a gender other than the one they were born into. This would exclude this population from civil rights protections and roll back the Obama administration’s recognition of gender identity. The Trump administration has pursued to block transgender people from serving in the military and has legally challenged civil rights protections for the group embedded in the nation’s health care law. The Department of Health and Human Services has argued that the term sex was never proposed to include gender identity or even homosexuality, and that the lack of clarity allowed the Obama administration to unlawfully extend civil rights protections to people who should not have them. Now under the Trump administration we will now start picking and choosing who should have civil rights in this country. The Departments of Education, Justice, Health and Human Services, and Labor has been asked by the Department of Health and Human services to implement its definition in rules that will create uniformity in the government and increase the likelihood that courts will accept it. One change comes from the Education Department deals with complaints of sex discrimination at schools and colleges receiving federal financial assistance; the other, from health and human services, deals with health programs and activities that receive federal funds or subsidies.. In other words let’s punish people for being different than the quote ‘norm”, so we will tale away anything which they might use. This has divided the political realm, and some have hopes that the most extreme language will be taken out of the new law. For example the call for genetic testing to determine sex. Sounds a bit like the doctors of Hitler deciding what tests they would be doing on twins. The Justice Department will have to make a determination on the new language, either way before the rule either stays the same or changes. Every time the Trump administration has had the opportunity to help transgender folks the administration has turned their backs on these American’s. In fact the Trump administration wants to limit civil rights to transgender folks. Shame on America for electing such a heartless man and his backward beliefs. It is horrible that in this day in age that all people are not treated equal. Transgender people work, laugh, cry, live, die all the same things that straight people do, all the same things that democrats do all the same thing republicans do, So why are we allowing our government to discriminate against people? Shame on all the people who support Trump and his ideals.
