All I want is……
Christmas in July!

Mid October seen Wal-Mart begin its Christmas price war with Target. These roll backs are usually done after Thanksgiving. Wal-Mart posted net income of $2.65 billion, or 63 cents per share, for the period ended Oct. 31, compared with $2.37 billion, or 57 cents per share, a year earlier. Net sales totaled $83.5 billion, an increase of 12 percent from $74.6 billion.

With this kind of profit I can understand why Wal-Mart needs to cheat its employees out of earned wages. I can also see the need for Wal-Mart personal and their families to receive benefits from Taxpayer provided Healthcare. After all Wal-Mart is a plus for every community that it encroaches on. Wal-Mart deserves the multi million dollar tax breaks that communities give them, where else can a huge corporation go and build a retail store that puts mom and pop business's out of business, and have mom and pop pay for the very tax breaks that the local government gives Wal-Mart and supports the closing of their family business.

I don't know why mom and pop are cry'en about the failure of their business, heck they could fulfill a life time dream… They could become Wal-Mart employees! Look what they would save on health care premiums.

Wal-Mart along with all retailers has exploited the Christmas season, in my opinion business push Christmas far to much and far to early. Personally I do not even think about Christmas until after the 1st of December. I never even consider buying from Wal-Mart let alone go into to their store of shame. Buy better quality, shop local.

I would suggest to people who read this column that they think twice about shopping at Wal-Mart, shop local, support FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS, support your neighbor, remember that local business's has to have higher prices than Wal-Mart because they can not buy in the volume that this corporation can. Also remember that the little guy lives in this town, supports this town and its people and cares about the neighborhood where as Wal-Mart could give a tinkers damn about the community all they care about is more profit.

Educate yourself on how Wal- Mart does business, how they treat their employees, You will easily come to the conclusion that you do not want to support the kind of corporation that Wal-Mart is, even if it costs you a dollar more for a pair of shoes. Even $5.00 more. Start having some principles and compassion for other people. If everyone took a stand Wal- Mart would have to adjust the way they do business. Everyone would benefit.

Wal-Mart is so greedy that price rollbacks for Christmas will start before the 4th of July pretty soon. Has everyone in America forgotten what Christmas is really about? Even if you are not particularly religious, Christmas is a time for family not useless presents.

Don't fall into the media hype, or corporate greed advertising. don't start Christmas shopping until after Thanksgiving. DON'T SHOP WAL-MART! Hold on to your money, Wal- Mart has taken plenty of your money already, through tax freebees, public healthcare to their under- paid employees.
