These are the two commissioners who are doing everything possible to
keep your tax credit from the sale of the hospital property, and the ones who refuse to make corporations pay their taxes that are legally owed. Why do they give millions in taxes back to filthy rich corporations that are owed to the county coffers? They shut services down and cry there is no money. We all suffer. Do they give the average taxpayer a break?

Hell no!

Do you actually think the current county commissioners will enforce the natural resource depletion fee /transportation fee on everyone who falls under the ordinance? So far they do not. I have been trying to get the county commissioners to enforce the ordinance since 1996, with no success. US Gypsum should be paying on transported gypsum, there have been incidents where the county has sent back transportation fees on aggregate. Tony Hyde informed me on occasion that he is the county commissioner and he can decide which fees/ ordinances he wants to enforced or not enforce that is why he is the county commissioner. It is time to get rid of Hyde and Fisher.

Did you know that the second energy turbine that PGE is putting in at Port Westward will be given huge tax abatements for 15 years? PGE will be taxed on a base amount of value. This means PGE will get $2 million+ a year to put in their pockets and the county will loose the $2+ million a year and after 15 years it has been estimated to be almost $32 million that Columbia County will have let go from the county coffers. As a county that is going broke it might be smart to stop making deals that deprive the taxpayer of funds. I think PGE is the only one benefitting from this deal and the taxpayers of the county is once again the losers.

As for the coal, it is subject to the depletion fee, 15 cents per ton. But about 5 years ago coal happened to be the topic at a commissioners meeting that I just happened to be attending and I brought up the fee, and I was told that coal did not fall under the ordinance because coal has never mined in Columbia County, Hyde needs to do some simple research COAL has been mined in Columbia County, So there goes Hyde's inadequate argument. Hyde and Fisher have no loyalties to the taxpayers of the county their loyalties lie with the corporations that want to rape the taxpayers of the county.( I guess that is how you get campaign funds)We can have jobs here in the county without selling the taxpayers out and throwing then under the bus.

Another argument the by the commissioners like so many times before, the ordinance is poorly written and that was never the intent of the ordinance and finally; when you state that the voters approved the ordinance and the amendment of the transportation fee section that "Quote" by Hyde in a public meeting "the voters did not understand what they were voting on". Seems to me that Hyde and Fisher think the voters are dumb. Because every time the voters speak by mandate Hyde and Fisher ignore the mandate and do as they want. Example: trying to steal $2.4 million from the taxpayers by giving the property to the city of St. Helens, at the expense of the taxpayers in the CHD. These actions are fraudulent, reek of back door deals and sleazy sleight of hand actions, all against YOU the taxpayer. THIS NEEDS TO STOP!

I think it is time Hyde and Fisher pack up and head for the barn. It's time to elect new people.
