Which CHD board member will take the blame for transferring critical access hospital
funds to a private non-profit foundation? Who will point the finger first?

The CHD budget shows that the board took a huge amount of funds that were collected for a critical access hospital and gave it to a private non-profit foundation called The Public Health Foundation of Columbia County. The board members are some of the CHD board members and long time board member Gary Heide started the foundation in 2003. My wondering mind wants to know if that is legal. In my opinion that may be why this current CHD board is afraid of an audit. If the transfer of those funds are found to be illegal I think that these people need to be held accountable, and if that means being held accountable through our legal system then I would support our legal systems decision, as long as the judge is not a friend, or club member of some of the CHD board.

The vindictiveness of the current CHD board is being openly shown, they are trying to stop Public health, by laying off the workers there and by sending out letters to the people who use the facility, telling them that public health is shutting down, all done before the new board gets sworn in July 1st, 2011. There could be an easy transfer of boards if the current board would stop trying to throw a cog in the wheel, Public health could have carried on like it has for years, and with out interruption. Unfortunately this board is not good citizens, not caring neighbors and not good public servants, and they have no conscience when it comes to people in need or they would not be acting this way. Karen Ladd who is the administrator of public health is to blame on all accounts as well.

The county commissioners have had a mess thrown in their laps that they now must try and find a positive solution in a very short time, all because of a board that has been a failure, untrustworthy, secretive, and egotistical, since they were elected to the position

Hopefully something good will come out of this mess
