When will America put a stop to imported items from China? Which are usually toxic to their children? Presently there is a re-call for kid's jewelry made in China. This time it is a bracelet called Best friends charm bracelet. The bracelet is imported from China to America and Europe. The bracelet is sold exclusively at the jewelry and accessories store Claire's, which has more than 3,000 outlets in North America and Europe. The bracelet has extremely high levels of cadmium.

Cadmium is toxic if ingested by children and can cause adverse health effects. Medical research shows that cadmium in high levels is a known carcinogen and can harm to kidneys and bones.

One state (Illinois) has decided to try and reduce the hazard of toxic cadmium in children's jewelry by limiting the amount of the toxin in the item, a move that follows a regulatory approach now used in children's toys. A start to protect our children but in my opinion it is a less than adequate and a very poor approach to this on going problem. Why just limit the amount of poison in our children's toys why not demand toxin free toys. Or the toys will not be allowed in the USA.

Why does America continue to import poison ridden items from China when we are aware that China produces toxic toys? There is no reason that America does not produce our own toys for our children. Why don't Americans demand that the American government stop importing toys and all other items from China?

There is no reason why America does not manufacture toys in America, other than the simple fact that American companies buy from China because the Chinese will work for a pittance and Americans demand fair and decent wages, which takes away from the huge profits that these companies are making. China does not care about their children so why should China care about American kids?
Why should a company care if your child dies, or has irreversible medical problems for the rest of their life because of toxic products, after all there will always be more children coming along to buy their products, and along with that comes huge profits for the company CEO and share holders.

There are hundreds of thousands of imported toys being re-called from China, either from lead paint, choking problems, toxic materials. Not to forget the food items that are contaminated and are being imported to the USA. Shame on the American government for allowing China to import toxic products into our country for our kids to play with or for people to eat. But then what would a country do other than roll over when China owns you lock stock and barrel.
