We will take American tax dollars; in return we will send your American jobs overseas
General Motors and Chrysler have announced that they will cut 50,000 jobs worldwide. GM received $30 billion and Chrysler $9 billion in taxpayer money to help stabilize the car giants. Even with the billions of bailout money GM has decided to slash 14 auto plants, 47,000 jobs world wide and 21,000 in the US. Chrysler has decided to cut about 30,000 jobs world wide but has not given the numbers of job loses in the US, and will not close any plants but will cut one shift. The American carmakers have caused their own problems; to blame the economy and the unions for 99% of their bad business practices are standard operations for corporate America. Like this time, they have blamed the unions for their failing and have demanded that the union workers take reductions in wages, benefits and health care while the CEO's of these companies continue to receive huge wages and bonus packages. While other people are losing their homes and unable to receive medical caer because they cannot afford medical insurance. SHAMEFUL What I find ironic is the taxpayers has to bail out these greedy corporations who have been making money hand over fist for decades, and have not been diligent in putting a percentage of profit away for slow times. Some of the very people who have lost their jobs and those who have been threatened with the possibility of losing their jobs are helping bail out the companies, through their hard earned taxes. Now the companies are moving their jobs over seas for cheaper wages, at the US taxpayers expense. This is wrong. The president should see to it that these companies stay here in America, what a slap in the face of the taxpayer, taking their tax money and leaving the country, all the while Americans are losing their jobs at these plants. All the while the car manufactures and the American government wants Americans to buy these automakers cars, what a bunch of boloney. What are US workers going to buy these cars with? Bail out funds? What a freaken joke. Does President Obama and the rest of our politicians really think that the American people are that naive. I am disappointed with president Obama, he has turned republican with his disregard to the unions and the American workers he has given his loyalty to corporate America just like all good republicans, Obama failure in other areas will be a subject of letters in the coming weeks. I am so tired of the word out sourcing every where you go whether it is to the bank, or computer problems, Dish TV problems you have to deal with a non-English speaking person over seas, from the Philippines or India people that don't understand what you are trying to say and read their answers off a written script. Usually you do not get your problem solved and must call three or four times. Why cant a US person answer the phones and help with a problem, these companies want US dollars from Americans buying their products, but intentionally go out of their way to cut the throats of the American worker, by out sourcing American jobs. It is time the US government puts a stop to out sourcing and makes sure that American workers come first. For a start We need to bring back the tariff, we need to do away with all the tax breaks for companies that move over seas, or out source jobs. I believe that things would change if every American would go on strike and refuse to go to work for a week, the Long shoremen need to shut down all the ports, the simple strike would cost these companies so much money that only then would they take notice, and losing money is the only thing that these greedy people understand. The time is long past and over due for action. Sitting down at a table and discussing pleasantries with politicians and corporate heads has resulted in not a damn thing for the American worker, only more wage and benefit losses. President Obama needs to slow down and remember who voted for him, and who promised change. If he keeps this course I think that he will be a one term president. Wake up Mr. President.
