We also marked and posted on all of our telephones the number for Poison Control -  (800) 222-1222.

My wife and I were able to survive our week with our Grandson.  It was a good week and we managed to finish it without any injuries to either ourselves or to our Grandchild.  We did have a few problems, but not with him.

"Bill" said my wife.  "I can't open the closet."

"I didn't want Jacob getting into the closet, so I used transparent strapping tape to tape the doors shut."  Got to admit, I did a darn good job at it too."

"Bill," said my wife.  "We don't have any hot water!"

"Oh that," said I. "I turned the heat down on the water heater.  I didn't want the kid to scald himself."

"Well turn it back up," said my wife  "I want to take a shower, I also want to get into our closet."

My wife was not all that happy with some of my safety measures, and I have to admit that although plastic strapping tape works well, it can be a challenge to remove.

My son and daughter-in-law returned for their child, and two very happy and exhausted Grandparents put him into their hands.

We enjoyed ourselves, our Grandson enjoyed himself, and we did discover one of the most important things about child safety.

Watch the kid.  Pay attention, listen, but above all watch.
